Hello friends! My name is Jazzlyn (aka The Chrome Butterfly) and I am the owner and creative director for Poleworks.
For years now, I’ve had a vision of creating a company focused on uniting pole dancing with the visual arts. Starting out with The Poleography Meetup in 2021, I began hosting pop-up style photoshoots for local photographers, videographers, and pole dancers to come create, interact, and engage with a new type of collaboration amongst artists. These events quickly began to gain in popularity and the need to expand became more evident. I began creating new ideas for not only photoshoots and video visuals, but also for showcases, workshops, and even retreats! This eventually led to the creation of Poleworks, an entertainment arts company specializing in visual arts production, performance, and creative movement education.
My love for pole dancing started back in January 2020. I visited a local pole studio on the first of the year and I was immediately hooked. Though I really loved landing new tricks, the most interesting thing about pole dancing to me was the creative nature of the sport and how versatile it could be. Almost immediately, my favorite portion of class became the freestyle portion we did at the very end. When the pandemic hit in March and studios began to close down, I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a resale “at home” pole and began to focus solely on freestyling. Every time I practiced I would almost solely freestyle and through my explorations I began to fully realize the artistic value of pole dancing.
Throughout my pole journey I have had many opportunities to perform and express my love for pole dancing on stage. Over the past 4 years I’ve been booked to perform at numerous events, including performing live on stage with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa during their summer tour show in ATL, GA. I have also been featured dancing in several video productions, including the hit shows P-Valley and BMF on Starz, Kingdom Business on BET+, and music videos for stars like DRAM. Though it may seem as though this all came quickly, I have actually been preparing for these moments my whole life. In total, my dance overall experience includes over 20 years of studio training, cheerleading, performing with a collegiate level hip-hop dance team, and, more recently, performing line dances and go-go dancing for a popular cowboy bar called PBR in Atlanta. Additionally, I’ve gained some acting experience in ATL, studying at ActHer Studios, and being cast as a featured extra in several TV films and shows like Sistas, Atlanta Playboy Murder, and Fight Night. I have also starred in an independent short Film called Grave Relations produced by Premier Pictures Entertainment.
In late 2023, I finally felt the pull to begin teaching pole dancing classes and in early 2024 I officially started teaching classes at The Secret Garden Pole Fitness Boutique in Atlanta, GA. As my classes began to gain popularity, and my choreography skills were being noticed more and more, I decided to apply for and accepted an amazing opportunity to teach pole dancing in Barbados at Wild Child Movement Pole Fitness and Dance Studios! This past summer I spent five weeks on the island teaching a total of 31 classes, one four-week flexibility series, and four style specific workshops, some of which I am still teaching! I strive to be a well rounded dancer in all aspects, from performer, to teacher, to student, and have always felt a deep yearning to express my love for this artform to the world. I hope you feel inspired to create with me! <3
